Identical twin sisters, Rachel and Rebecca of RARE Grazing NI are giving a big hello to the world of Women in Business, as recent new members!
RARE Grazing NI is one of the first companies in Northern Ireland to offer the grazing experience in takeaway style delivered straight to your door. A business born and grown from a life-long passion for hospitality and good quality food. The inspiration behind the business idea happened over a last minute Christmas present in 2019 when the twins decided to gift a friend a beautifully constructed cheese and charcuterie board with some of their favourite items. This turned out to be a non-stop talking point of the night and had a real lasting effect on all of the guests at the party- “We LOVED how others appreciated our attention to detail & our creativity. This encouraged us to build upon our passion and create RARE grazing NI”.
Having a huge interest in catering & hospitality from an early age. Rachel and Rebecca grew up being surrounded by many influential business minded people and it was apparent that it wouldn’t take long for the girls to follow in those footsteps. “We continued our interest for learning & achieving throughout our academic studies and have built upon our experiences in this industry to develop the business skills behind the boards”. Rachel put her degree of International Hospitality Management into practice and gained most of her experience working in Country Clubs and Restaurants throughout the USA and Northern Ireland. Rebecca too used the knowledge and creativity gained from her degree of Business & Media alongside years of experience in catering and they have both put these into practice! A match made in grazing heaven!
RARE Grazing NI has been up and running since late January 2020 and started off in the family kitchen, offering to family and friends, with their Mum Janette and Auntie Annette (also identical twins) joining the team shortly after. The successful fast paced growth lead to the team moving into a fully commercial kitchen, allowing for the business to cater on a daily basis and at a larger scale. Based just outside Lisburn City Centre, RARE Grazing NI offer a choice of delivery or collection.
Prior to Covid-19 handcrafted and bespoke grazing tables and boards were available for weddings and events. Learning to pivot during the Coronavirus pandemic, Rachel and Rebecca decided in early March 2020 to bring the grazing experience to your door, being one of the first in Northern Ireland to offer this experience which has now turned into a growing trend. “It is fantastic to see so many other companies being inspired by our style of boxes and starting up their own grazing journey”.
RARE Grazing NI are continuing to offer handcrafted and bespoke grazing tables and boards and are taking bookings for the rest of 2020 and into 2021.
Offering a selection of grazing boxes, platters, table spreads and can set up both sweet and savoury selections to include options for those with vegetarian, vegan, gluten and dairy intolerances (providing something for everyone).
