60 Seconds with Louise Hillman

Tell us about your role and your organisation.
I am the co-founder and Growth Director for Beyond Good. We are a full- service growth agency elevating good brands to new heights of excellence. We mix data with creativity to grow good brands beyond their expectations. Challenging your teams to change the status quo, we craft digital strategies anchored on what connects people to your brand beyond what feeds the algorithm. We say we are half artists, half scientists and have worked with many leading organisations including BBC, Planet Organic, Harrods, Manual, Rated People, Allianz and TriMedika to name a few.

Give us a brief overview of your career journey so far.
My career began at Belfast Tech company Civica (previously Asidua). I then moved to Russia for 8 months to lead media relations for the Sochi 2014 Winter and Paralympics. After that, I spent 8 years in London, working with some of the world's most famous luxury retailers, fintech and women's health brands. As I advanced in my career and expanded my network, I was frequently asked to lead on strategy for various projects. This led me to freelancing for 2 years before starting Beyond Good. I met my business partner at an event in Barcelona, and we collaborated on a project for 2 years with a great working relationship before deciding to found Beyond Good. We recognised the need for agencies that prioritise strategy and growth over followers and likes. We are experiencing considerable growth, with our team based internationally in Lisbon, New York, Paris, and Cape Town. In the coming years, we aim to work with more brands that are genuinely making a positive impact on the world and collaborate with them to ensure this is a part of their strategy.

Describe yourself in three words.
Real, considered, dedicated.

What is one skill that helps you most in your role?
International experience and the ability to apply this to managing people and working in new markets.

What advice do you have for women in your industry?
For me the 4 agreements are what I stand by when doing business: Be Impeccable With Your Word. Don't Take Anything Personally. Don't Make Assumptions. Always Do Your Best.

Are there any exciting plans in the year ahead in your organisation that you can share with us?
Yes, we are collaborating with a luxury hotel to launch two new sites in 2025. It's great to implement experiential marketing strategies at times, taking things beyond the screen.

Who has been your biggest career inspiration and why?
Dr. Roisin Molloy, founder of TriMedika. We have been working with Roisin since the COVID-19 pandemic, and her leadership and business positioning embody a purpose-driven approach that has a genuine impact. As a female founder in digital healthcare from Belfast, Roisin has received recognition from EY and the United Nations. Her product has made a huge impact in healthcare internationally, and she is both compassionate and driven to make a change.
