Tell us about your role and your organisation.
I am the proud owner of Archie Lloyd's Hair Extensions, a local brand based in Newry that I established four years ago. At Archie Lloyd's, we take a unique approach to hair extensions, aiming not just to enhance beauty but to inspire confidence in women everywhere. Our premium-quality hair extensions, along with our award-winning training school, offer over 12 different methods of application, empowering women to either start their own businesses or advance their careers at any stage of life. Additionally, I am incredibly proud of my newest venture, The Healing Hair Company. This business is dedicated to helping women experiencing hair loss, alopecia, and other hair-related challenges by providing customised wigs and toppers, offering them support and a renewed sense of confidence.
Give us a brief overview of your career journey so far.
I started my journey in the hair industry in my late 30s, after years of working in management roles, spending my 9-to-5 knowing I was capable of achieving more. As an independent mother, my children are always my top priority, and I wanted to create an opportunity not only to provide for them but to inspire other mothers to pursue their own dreams as well. Starting in the hair industry has been a significant change, but an incredibly positive one. I am constantly learning and growing every day, and this journey has been both rewarding and empowering.
Describe yourself in three words.
Driven, Empowering, Resilient
What is one skill that helps you most in your role?
One skill that helps me most in my role is adaptability. It allows me to navigate the ever-changing demands of the hair industry while continuously learning and evolving, ensuring I can meet both business and personal challenges head-on.
What advice do you have for women in your sector?
My advice for women in this industry is to believe in yourself and never underestimate your potential. Success doesn’t happen overnight, but with persistence and passion, you can achieve anything. Don’t be afraid to take risks or step outside your comfort zone—that’s where growth happens. One mantra I live by is: "You are capable of more than you know, and every challenge is an opportunity to grow." Trust the process, and always keep learning.
Are there any exciting plans in the year ahead in your organisation that you can share with us?
At Archie Lloyd's, we're constantly introducing something new and exciting. This month, we’re expanding our range with more stunning shades, and next month marks the start of our Christmas launches. Be sure to follow us on social media for sneak peeks and early access to all our latest offerings!
Who has been your biggest career inspiration and why?
My biggest career inspiration has to be Brendan from BPerfect, whose journey and success in building a standout brand has been incredibly motivating. His innovation and relentless drive inspire me to push boundaries in my own business. I’m also deeply inspired by women and mothers everywhere—especially those who manage to juggle the demands of motherhood while chasing their own ambitions. Their resilience, strength, and ability to make it all work remind me every day that anything is possible, no matter the challenges you face.
