There is no better woman in business to kick of Entrepreneurship Week 2020 than our Young Women’s Network Member - Naomi McGregor, CEO and founder of Movetru® Ltd, a multi-award-winning tech start-up that specialises in reducing rehabilitation time and optimising athletic performance.
Naomi recently graduated with a 1st Class Master’s in Product Design Engineering from Queen’s University Belfast. Since July, she has received funding to enable her to continue with her business development. Movetru® was inspired from Naomi’s childhood passion, ballet. She grew up as a dancer and began as an assistant ballet teacher at 13 years old. A year later, Naomi was devastated when she injured herself, potentially removing her ability to dance again. It took over three years and eight different specialists to finally diagnose her injury. Thankfully, Naomi is still dancing. Unfortunately, her story is not unique. Athletes across the world suffer from life altering injuries that ruin their career. To help overcome this, Naomi created Movetru, home physio for anyone, anytime. Naomi’s success with Movetru has achieved the Catalyst Invent Enterprise Software award and won QUB Dragon’s Den!
Naomi is a STEM Ambassador, with a passion to help remove the imposter syndrome and inspire other women into a career in STEM! (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics). On the side, Naomi still pursues dance and fitness, as she is also a model and influencer.
On top of ALL of this, Naomi will be taking to the virtual stage and standing on the red dot at TEDxDerryLondonderry Women, streaming live online Saturday 28th November! Naomi did not expect this great honour (well-deserved in our opinion!) so quickly post-graduation, as she will be discussing her journey into engineering and the key moments experienced along the way, even the reasons why she almost didn’t choose to study engineering!
Be sure to keep up to date with Naomi and Movetru on Linktree, or why not connect on LinkedIn? With tickets still available for the TEDxDerryLondonderry Women here. Thanks for sharing Naomi!
