Katherine Pringle – Recruitment Consultant at Keenan Recruitment, Belfast
Katherine found herself making the transition from in-house recruitment to agency recruitment to join the team at Keenan, a new challenge that she was ready to take on, although not without the hesitations of taking a ‘chance’ in the midst of a pandemic.

Upon graduating from University in 2015 with a Law degree, fresh faced and somewhat in awe of the big bad world, Katherine went on to study a diploma in Human Resource Management and undertook a varied number of customer and client focused roles in an attempt to navigate the world of working and find her niche.
Fast forward to the end of the turbulent year that was 2020, Katherine found herself making the transition from in-house recruitment to agency recruitment to join the team at Keenan, a new challenge that she was ready to take on, although not without the hesitations of taking a ‘chance’ in the midst of a pandemic.
Upon joining the team, it was clear to Katherine that at Keenan, the recruitment is candidate focused, something which resonated with me from the beginning. From personal touches tailored to each candidate, to going out to market for candidate’s preferred employers, to the help offered through the Kith & Kin financial wellbeing package, and to catching up with the candidate down the line to find out more about their progress in placement. Katherine quickly found her style of recruitment that aligned with the family values at the core of Keenan, a refreshing take on recruitment that cannot be underestimated given the job circumstances that many find themselves in due to the pandemic.
Through taking the lead from the candidate in deciding the next step in their career and, most importantly, sourcing the employer they want, Katherine found herself upskilling to find the right balance between client and candidate needs and expectations, and seizing upon the empowering opportunities to network, build and maintain relationships albeit over zoom.
With 2020 being a year of reflection and resilience, for many it has led on to 2021 bringing a new understanding and realisation for change in ensuring their work is more aligned with their values and goals. Katherine encourages anyone looking for that new challenge to take the same chance that she took and explore their options.
