Bolstering Your Start Up - Women Founders

The Go Succeed Start team hosts this networking series for women founders in the early stages of their business, throughout Northern Ireland, in partnership with Enterprise NI and Women in Business. 

About this series

Designed to support women founders across Northern Ireland to learn, connect, and provide peer to peer support.  These networking meet ups feature a business inspired talk by Women in Business followed by peer to peer networking and interactive Q&A. 

This is the second opportunity to meet up in this support series. This session and the following session will be hosted online. This series runs on a rolling basis throughout the year - you can join at any stage, so you never miss the opportunity to connect.

Overcoming Challenges

At our second session we will ask you about your current challenges and we will share advice and encourage peer support. We will make sure you are up to date with support on offer through the various providers. As women are much less likely to seek external finance we will explore this theme and make sure you are aware of the options available. In this session, we’ll explore:

Identifying key challenges from attendees and having discussion
Whats out there to support you and who can help?
Key barrier – finance and confidence (emotions behind money)
What are the finance options available and understanding some of the business/financial language?
The session will include use of breakout rooms to build connections and learning.

About the Presenter

Roisin McDermott is Head of Entrepreneurship at Women in Business.  Roisin is a Business Mentor and Trainer with over 20 years experience in supporting entrepreneurship. She joined the Women in Business team in 2022 after 14 years running her own consultancy business Seed Mentoring. She was one of the key founders of Women in Business 21 years ago and was previously a Board member and has worked for several years as a key delivery partner working directly with business startups and business owners.
