 Denise Black

Denise Black

Director of Centre of Learning

Denise Black has over 32 years’ experience in the private sector, all of which was in the Financial Services Industry. In latter years she led a number of strategic change management programs within AIB. After moving from the Private sector to the Public Sector in 2018 Denise joined the Strategic investment Board and led on driving Transformational change as People Lead within the Department of Infrastructure. She was then appointed April 2020 as Executive Director, Human Resources for Invest NI. Her motivation to join WIB in 2023 is two-fold in providing a clear opportunity to carry out her lifelong interest in optimising peoples’ career motivations and abilities, as well as being able to ‘give back’ the training and investment given to her throughout her career. Her ‘People & Culture’ interest is reflected in her professional qualifications as Chartered member of CIPD, Level 7 ILM Executive Coach and Mentor, CIPD qualified Trainer and a MSc in Strategic Personnel and Development. As much as she values her professional accreditations, Denise believes her best learning has been from her ‘try it, learn from it, build on it’ mind set.
